Made-to-measure waistcoats
We offer an any material, made-to-measure, custom design service. We do not have set patterns or sizes. We can make to match or compliment other clothes for special events. We can make individual waistcoats, or sets of waistcoats for a group of people (members of a club, the groom's party, etc.)
We can obtain sample material (fees vary) and the selected material for you or you can purchase the material yourself (we can provide both guidance and details of mail order fabric suppliers)
If you have seen the material you like, we will tell you how much to buy and send to be made up.
For a perfect fit, we ask for detailed measurements (if you can come to us, we will do it for you and carry out fittings). Typically, an average man's waistcoat requires around 1 metre of material for the front, and 1.5 metres for the back and lining. As a rough guide:
- Good quality silk costs from £11 per metre
- Brocades can cost up to £60 per metre
- A wide variety of cheaper materials are very suitable.
We will make you a waistcoat to your measurements (or we can copy the sizes of an existing waistcoat if you want to send it to us).
A simple, elegant waistcoat usually includes two pockets and a tie back with a buckle. More complex designs including lapels and extra pockets cost only a little more.
